Bella Luna

Bella Luna

I gaze into a darkness deep
Searching for secrets shadows keep
Down lightless halls and corridors
That lead the way to galleries

Of images painted in sleep
Whose figures prance and lithely leap
To music that I faintly hear -
How nightfall stirs the song in me

Soft rhythms of the tears I weep
Low melodies of fears that creep
Crescendos of desire so hot
That hearing stokes a flame in thee

A torch that lusty Eros bears
O'er pitchless path to winding stairs
That spiral down to shadow's heart
Where Psyche lies in crystal bed

Awaiting for a hand to sweep
Away the wool of counted sheep
That shields her eyes from Lover's light
Blanketing her in reverie

Till shrouding cloth is set to flare
Revealing darkened body fair
A dancer from yon gallery
Whose name is thought but seldom said

Bella Luna, Bella Luna

Siren of the void and night

Bella Luna, Bella Luna

Mother of divine insight

Amber eyes and onyx hair
Darkness into which I stare
Your secrets ever kept shall be
When feet return to sunlit tread
